The main application of the 3300 XL NSv sensor system is for use in limited conditions such as counterbores, side views, or rear views, utilizing standard Bently Nevada* 3300 and 3300 XL 5mm and 8mm sensor systems. It is also an ideal choice for small target applications, such as measuring radial vibration on shafts smaller than 51mm (2 inches) or measuring axial position on flat targets smaller than 15mm (0.6 inches).

It is mainly used in the following applications for fluid-filtering bearing machines with smaller shafts or side-view constraints:
Radial vibration and radial position measurement

The design of the 3300 XL NSv sensor system allows for the replacement of the 3300 RAM sensor system and the 3000 or 7000 Series 190 sensor systems. Upgrading from the 3300 RAM system to the 3300 XL NSv system can utilize the existing probes, extension cables, and monitoring systems with the 3300 XL NSv Proximitor sensor. When upgrading from the 3000 or 7000 Series sensors to the 3300 XL NSv system, the probe, extension cable, and monitoring system must be replaced, and the NSv Proximitor sensor must replace the probe, extension cable, and Proximitor sensor.
