


The Bently Nevada Electronic Overspeed Detection System, designed for the 3500 Series Machinery Protection System, offers a fast-response, highly reliable redundant tachometer specifically for overspeed protection. This system complies with API Standards 670 and 612 for overspeed safeguarding requirements.
The 3500/53 modules can be configured in a 2-out-of-2 or, preferably, a 2-out-of-3 voting arrangement to enhance reliability. Each 3500/53 module features a set of indicator LEDs: an "OK" LED to show proper operation, a "TX/RX" LED for communication status with other rack modules, a "Bypass" LED to signal bypass mode activation, and a "Test Mode" LED to show when the module is undergoing testing. Additionally, alarm LEDs alert users to any alarm conditions affecting the corresponding relay.
The module front includes a coaxial connector for buffered transducer output, which is protected against short circuits and electrostatic discharge. The recorder output operates within a +4 to +20 mA range, corresponding to the module's full-scale range (in rpm). Notably, short circuits at the recorder output do not disrupt module function.

-Signal:A single transducer signal from a proximity probe transducer or magnetic pickup is accepted by each Overspeed Detection module. The input signal has a voltage range of +10.0 V to -24.0 V. Signals that exceed this range are internally limited by the module.

3.Adjustable Alarm Range: One of the hallmark features of the Module's alarm system is its adjustable nature. Users have the freedom to set alarm thresholds that span the entire spectrum of the module's full-scale speed range. This dynamic range can typically be calibrated from 0 to 100% of the full-scale speed range, offering granular control over alarm triggers to suit diverse operational demands.
4.Alarm Time Delays: Timing is of the essence in monitoring systems, and the Module's alarm system addresses this through rapid response. Alarms are accompanied by a time delay mechanism that ensures swift and accurate notifications. Specifically, when operating at speeds above 300 Hz, the time delay is less than 30 ms. This lightning-quick response time is instrumental in preventing potential issues from escalating into critical failures, thus minimizing downtime and optimizing operational continuity.
