The 3500/50 Tachometer Module is a versatile two-channel module designed to monitor shaft rotational speed, rotor acceleration, and direction using input from proximity probes or magnetic pickups. It compares these measurements against user-programmable alarm setpoints, generating alarms when the setpoints are violated.

The module is configurable using the 3500 Rack Configuration Software and offers four options for setup:
Speed Monitoring, Setpoint Alarming, and Speed Band Alarming.
Speed Monitoring, Setpoint Alarming, and Zero Speed Notification.
Speed Monitoring, Setpoint Alarming, and Rotor Acceleration Alarming.
Speed Monitoring, Setpoint Alarming, and Reverse Rotation Notification.
The module accepts up to two transducer signals, with an input range of +10.0V to -24.0V. Any signals exceeding this range are internally limited by the module. The typical power consumption is 5.8 watts. The standard input impedance is 20 kΩ, with variations depending on the module configuration (40 kΩ for TMR, 7.15 kΩ for internal barriers).

It is important to note that while the module supports proximity transducers, restrictions may apply to the use of magnetic pickups, as outlined in the application note.
